This certification is approved by the Alabama Electronic Security Board of Licensure (AESBL). This certification course equips security sales professionals to translate the technical specifications of access control, CCTV, and alarm systems into practical, client-ready solutions. Participants develop the skills to assess site requirements, select appropriate components, design integrated systems, and account for environmental factors and industry compliance standards. The curriculum emphasizes data-driven recommendations and the ability to clearly communicate both the technical “how” and the business “why” of security hardware for residential and commercial applications.

Who this course is for

Sales professionals, account managers, business development staff, and anyone who sells or wants to sell alarm, video surveillance, and access control systems in Alabama. This course is educational training. It does not grant a license by itself, the earned certificate should be downloaded and added to your AESBL application.

Course Layout

• All materials are included in the course, no hidden fees.
• The course is online and on demand. You complete the lessons and knowledge checks. After you complete the course, you take a proctored final exam. A score of 80 percent or higher is required to pass.
• Choose the proctored exam option that fits your schedule.
  • Live Proctor is a scheduled session with a proctor.
  • Flex Proctor lets you take the exam on your own time in a recorded session. Both are included at no extra cost.
• We do not charge retake fees. If you need other attempts to pass, we reschedule it at no additional charge.

Digital certificate of completion

• After you pass the exam, you can download your certificate of completion.
• Upload your certificate to your AESBL licensing or renewal package. AESBL handles applications, background checks, fees, and licensing decisions.
